What is title case versus sentence case?

Title Case capitalises the main words of a heading and keeps small words like "of" and "the" lower case. Sentence case capitalises only the first word and proper nouns, the way a normal sentence is written.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case and kebab-case?

They are ways to join words without spaces. camelCase starts lower case (myVariable), PascalCase capitalises every word (MyVariable), snake_case uses underscores (my_variable) and kebab-case uses hyphens (my-variable). Programmers use them for variable names, file names and web addresses.

Which words stay lower case in Title Case?

Short words such as a, an, the, and, but, or, for, of, in, on, at and to stay lower case unless they are first or last. Style guides such as AP and Chicago differ on the details, so check yours.

What does URL slug do?

It turns text into a clean web address ending: lower case, accents removed, and anything other than letters and numbers replaced with single hyphens. That follows the usual advice for readable URLs.

Does it keep accented letters?

Yes for every style except URL slug, which removes accents so the address uses plain letters.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser.
