Broken Link Checker
Enter a page address and check its links (up to 100) to find broken ones, redirects and links that refuse automated checks.
What is a broken link?
A broken link points to a page that no longer loads, usually showing a 404 (not found) error. Broken links frustrate visitors and waste search engines' time, so finding and fixing them keeps a site healthy.
How it works
- 1
Enter the address of the page to scan.
- 2
Wait while each link is checked, which can take up to half a minute.
- 3
Open the Broken group and note the status codes.
- 4
Fix or remove those links, and update links that redirect.
Frequently asked questions
What does "blocked or unsure" mean?
The site answered with 401, 403 or 429. Many sites refuse automated checks, so the link may work fine in a browser. Open those links yourself to be sure.
Does it check my whole site?
No. It checks the first 100 links on the one page you enter. Run it on your most important pages, or the pages that link out the most.
Is a redirect a broken link?
No, the visitor still arrives. But linking straight to the final address is faster and cleaner, so update links that redirect.
What kinds of links does it skip?
Email links, phone links and links that only jump to a spot on the same page. It also does not check images, scripts or stylesheets, only links.
Does it see links added by JavaScript?
No. It reads the HTML the server sends, so links created later by JavaScript are not included.
Do you keep the results?
No. They are shown to you and not stored.
